A TODDLER had a lucky escape after her legs were run over as she climbed out of a car.

The incident happened on Saturday shortly before 2pm on Deepdale Close in Great Sankey.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said her dad had got out of the car and the youngster tried to climb out but as she did so she activated the handbrake, causing the car to roll over her leg.

The spokesman said: "She was not badly injured as the tyre pushed her leg into the ground. We used specialist lifting equipment to lift the car and release her."

A spokesman for Mersey Regional Ambulance service confirmed they had treated the girl.
