PUPILS at Barnton Community Primary School have been working hard to maintain a clean and safe school in a bid to win a national award presented by a green fingered celebrity.
The winners of The David Bellamy Award for Environmental Health receive £8,000 and the school, which is already in the final eight, is keeping its fingers crossed after it was judged again on June 9.
The focus of the award is to encourage children to make schools cleaner, healthier and safer by pledging to support a 20-point charter about environmental cleanliness for one term. Two runner-up schools also have the chance of receiving £1,000 each.
