THIEVES stole a couple's memories of their baby boy's first smile.
They broke into a house in Northwich Road last week and stole a camcorder and camera that recorded the child's first hours.
"They were the moments after his birth when he was weighed, meeting his sister for the first time and his first smiles," said the mother, who asked not to be named.
"They are of no monetary value, but of great sentimental value to us. The sickening thing is they are probably at the bottom of someone's rubbish bin now."
The thief broke in on Wednesday sometime between 10.30am and 1.30pm.
A kitchen window at the back of the house near the ambulance station was forced open.
When the woman arrived home she noticed a drawer open and tea towels on the floor.
The raiders had stolen an MP3 player, DVD player and jewellery.
But all the family wants back are their memories.
"They had stolen my jewellery, but when I heard the camcorder and camera had gone my heart sank," she said.
"I just hope someone with a conscience will return them."
If you stole the camcorder and camera - or if you bought them - please leave them at the Knutsford Guardian, The Council Offices, Toft Road.
