COUNCILLORS are hoping to strengthen community ties with the younger generation in Rudheath by getting involved with the village's youth club.
Rudheath Youth Centre has approached the village's parish council to ask whether members would provide a council representative on the youth club's committee.
Two councillors have expressed a keen interest in the hope of getting to the heart of what young people in Rudheath want.
Clr Pat Battison said: "Quite a few years ago there was a management committee and members monitored the happenings of the youth centre and the events the kids took part in.
"The kids pay subs to the centre to pay for things such as catering and equipment so the centre has to have a committee to fulfil its legal obligations because it is using public money and wants a representative of the parish council to join this committee."
The council discussed the possibility of a member of the youth club attending the monthly meetings to raise issues and ideas.
