WARRINGTON volunteers have received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service and are now gearing up for Disability Awareness Day (DAD).
DAD 2006 is being organised by Warrington Disability Partnership and is the largest of its kind in Europe.
It will be held at Walton Hall Gardens on July 9 where exhibitors from voluntary, statutory, private and business organisations can provide expert advice.
Cllr Roy Smith said: "On behalf of the council, I would like to congratulate all the volunteers for their hard work and commitment because they are the ones who make this event such a success.
"Disability awareness has really helped put Warrington on the map and has inspired many others to hold similar events around the world."
