EVERYONE is being urged by Halton Borough Council to do their bit to help the environment and battle against the effects of climate change.
And to mark the United Nations World Environment Day, the council is backing a new campaign to raise awareness of climate change.
The campaign, You Control Climate Change, was launched across Europe to get people to take simple steps to make a difference to the environment.
The campaign slogan says 'Turn down, switch off, recycle, walk' to highlight the ways that people can make a difference.
These include switching off TVs instead of leaving them on standby and walking instead of using the car.
Councillor Phil Harris, the council's executive member for environment, said: ""This is a practical campaign, which advises people how they can help combat global warming."
