TWO armed men stole cash and cigarettes during a robbery at Fearnhead Spar on Sunday.
The pair, one armed with a six-inch screwdriver, stormed the shop on Cinammon Lane North at 9pm.
They threatened the two members of staff as they were closing up for the night before bringing a bin into the shop and emptying cigarettes into it.
Detectives say witnesses spotted a black Vectra in the area which could have been used as an escape vehicle. The registration could have begun V84.
The man carrying the screwdriver was in his 20s, between 5ft 8in and 5ft 10in, average build and possibly of mixed race.
He was wearing a baseball cap, dark coloured tracksuit bottoms and gloves. He had a local accent.
The other man was about 6ft, also in his 20s, wearing a tracksuit top and bottoms, average build and he had a local accent too.
Anyone with information or who was in the area at the time should call DS Dave Walsh at Warrington's specialist robbery unit on 01244 613730 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555111.
