A SERVICE of remembrance will honour the men who gave their lives in the Battle of Hooge during the First World War.
Soldiers from the 1/4th Battalion of the South Lancashire Territorial Army Regiment, the Prince of Wales' Volunteers, took part in the battle on June 16, 1915.
More than 40 men were killed and their bodies were never found.
To this day they lie somewhere in the battlefield in Ypres, Belgium.
To mark the 91st anniversary, the Ex Drummers and Comrades of the South Lancashire Regiment will be laying a poppy wreath in the Regimental Chapel of Warrington Parish Church tomorrow morning at 11am.
All are welcome to attend the service, which will go-ahead with the permission of the Rector of Warrington, the Reverend Michael Finlay.
