A MUM has been fined for failing to make sure her son attended school.
Debbie Nelson, aged 46, didn't attend Warrington Magistrates' Court on Tuesday for the hearing and the case was proved in her absence, despite her previously denying the charge.
Magistrates were told that the mum who lives at Woodridge in Windmill Hill, Runcorn, didn't ensure her 16-year-old son went to Grappenhall Hall School between October 31, 2005, and February 17, 2006.
The court heard that during November last year and January this year, the year 11 pupil had 136 unauthorised absences from school.
She was fined £150 and ordered to pay £100 costs.
