RYLANDS had two victories at the weekend as they strengthened their position at the top of Cheshire Building Society Cricket Alliance Division Three before reaching the next round of the Cheshire Alliance Cup.
Rylands hosted Kerridge in the league on Saturday and the near perfect conditions allowed openers Pete Knowles and Richard Buck to make 80 and 97 respectively in an opening partnership that put on 138 runs in less than 17 overs.
Ian Mason then followed up with 51 - his fifth successive half century - as Rylands raced on to 244 for 2 declared from only 37 overs.
Sean Malone, who finished with figures of 5 for 46, ripped through Kerridge's top order and Jamie Leicester took 3 for 28 to make sure they were bowled out for 169.
Rylands hosted Division Two side Trinity in the cup on Sunday and won by 84 runs after amassing 205 for 4 from their 40 overs.
Another half century from Mason, who reached 71 not out, was supported by Leicester taking 4 for 18 and Buck plundering 5 for 30 as Trinity were bowled out for 121.
Rylands' under 15s and under 13s were defeated by Alvanley and Chester Boughton Hall respectively but the under 11s defeated Moorfield by a single run at Gorsey Lane on Friday.
