STRETTON returned to winning ways with a victory over Knutsford in Meller Braggins Cheshire Cricket League Division Three.
Ben Clissold took 2 for 42 and Steve Critchley 2 for 16 as Knutsford were restricted to 153 for 5 but on an uneven and slow-paced wicket the target looked tricky, even more so with Stretton at 29 for 3.
But Clissold, 73 not out, and Faisal Maqsood held the innings together and Stretton won by six wickets.
The seconds scored 235 but the huge total was overhauled by Ashley with one over to go. Jason Wright plundered an exciting 94.
The Sunday XI lost to Wallasey by nine wickets despite Mark Critchley finishing as top batsman with 47.
Stretton under 13s progressed to the quarter finals of the North Cheshire Cup after a victory against Warrington.
Stretton reduced the home side to 30 all out. Sam Mather took 5 for 4 and was well supported by Pete Talbot and Rob Jones.
Stretton knocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket.
