GRAPPENHALL will travel to Irby on Saturday hoping to continue their good form in the Cheshire County Cricket League Second Division after a 16-run win against Mobberley at the weekend.
Grappers were put in to bat but, after losing an early wicket, Will Sharp and Danny Sisson took the score to 95 for 1.
Sharp went for 34 and Sisson followed for 52 but Grappenhall moved the score on to 147 for 6 before former Lancashire bowler Paul Ridgway hit 48 from 26 balls to help them reach 213 for 9 from their 50 overs.
Mobberley's reply got off to a great start but Ridgway and Chris France helped to stem the tide.
Grappenhall's opponents still looked on course for victory at 118 for 5 and later needed only 28 from six overs, before Ian Jackson completed figures of 4 for 64 to dismiss Mobberley for 197.
Grappenhall's second team, who host Winnington Park on Saturday, strengthened their promotion push with a convincing eight-wicket triumph against Mobberley's seconds.
Tight bowling by Matt Fitchett and Andy Tetlow helped to restrict Mobberley's progress and Matt Titchard cleaned up the tail with 4 for 21 to dismiss Grappers' opponents for 140.
Opener Steve Hartley then moved Grappenhall towards the target with 43 not out and was joined by Nick Sharp, who made 54 not out to help seal victory for the loss of only two wickets.
Grappers' third team won by four wickets at Timperley's thirds after dismissing the home side for 93.
All the bowlers fared well as Timperley lost wickets at regular intervals and Rob Walker took 3 for 14, with Paul Tyerman grabbing 3 for 2, to leave the hosts in trouble.
Their total was too small to successfully defend, although Grappers, who host Heaton Mersey on Sunday, did lose six wickets on the way to victory.
Grappenhall's under 15s team have followed the form of the senior sides by winning their first nine league games this year, as well as reaching the quarter finals of the Cheshire Cup.
The under 13s, who are gaining confidence after a slow start to the year, are into the quarters of the North Cheshire Cup after a win against Barrow.
Sam Harrison hit 104 not out during the match, while Nick Jackson reached his maiden half-century.
