This letter is aimed at the two lads from Newman High School in Latchford, who on Friday, May 26, the last day of half term, thought it was amusing to throw my daughter's school bag into the River Mersey off Kingsway Bridge just after 3pm.
She had bent down to get her phone out when the two lads ran up to her, grabbed her bag and threw it into the Mersey, without any thought about what might be in it.
I had bought the school bag a few weeks earlier, and it contained her PE kit, a new pair of school shoes, her school diary and other books, pens etc.
Luckily she had just taken her phone out and had her bus money in her pocket. I have informed the school about what you have done. You know who you are!
You can send £20 to Sir Thomas Boteler High School, which will then be passed on to her to buy replacements, or this will be passed on to police for further action. My five-year-old would not do silly childish tricks like that.
