SIXTEEN-year-old Tom Harwood inspired Elworth to finally break that duck against Norton.
It's taken eight matches but they are finally up and running after a relegation hangover with success at London Road, last Saturday.
And young Harwood played a major part, making a glittering start to his first team career.
Five wickets in a tremendous 18 over spell of off-spin bowling helped the hosts to their first victory of the season.
He had some big shoes to fill, replacing captain and veteran spinner Jim Higgins in the line-up.
But the teen star showed both maturity and ability as he flighted the ball, using drift and spin to fox the visiting batsmen.
Norton had made a decent start to the match, reaching 58 without loss before Matt Buckley struck twice either side of the drinks interval.
Anthony Dutton had gone for 27 and Steven Ankers without scoring as Elworth began to make inroads.
When Paul Crompton had Mark Graham caught by Alex Edmonstone for 27, they seized the advantage and handed Harwood (5-26) the ball.
Dropping a length from his first, he gave the batsmen more problems than they had answers for and it wasn't long until Greg Willot became his first victim, clean bowled.
Norton couldn't up the run rate and the hosts turned the screw.
Josh Graham swung and missed at a low full toss before David Reynold top edged one as the visitors fell apart.
Anthony Sheeran's patient innings was ended for eight and jubilant celebrations marked Harwood's five-wicket haul on his debut when Edmonstone clung onto his second catch of the day.
When pro Murray Ranger (2-26) picked up his second wicket, Norton were blown away for just 117 and the home side sensed that long wait could be over.
With Pete Davies back in the fold and opening due to Ross Kesteven's injury, there were no jitters.
Together with in-form Kevin Underwood, the pair put on 30 for a solid start before Davis nicked one to the keeper.
That brought Ranger to the crease and the duo continued an aggressive approach before Underwood's dismissal for 40 sparked a mini-collapse.
Ranger went five runs later and then Rob Beech fell for a duck but with only 11 runs needed there were no dramas.
Acting captain Dave Palin steadied the ship before Edmonstone smashed four to complete victory and a vital 20 points.
Although still bottom, Elworth are back in touch with the pack.
They entertain fifth-placed Sandyford on Saturday with Macclesfield at London Road in the Cheshire Cup on Sunday.
