EVERYONE was disappointed after the Challenge Cup defeat at Hull Kingston Rovers but we could not afford to dwell on it.
It was a case of having a look at our own individual performances and trying to move on from there, with everyone feeling positive going into the game against Harlequins.
We realised where we went wrong against Hull KR and we tried to put it right against Harlequins. It wasn't quite right but it was better.
I think we were our own worst enemies in London, just as we were against Hull KR. We can't keep putting the ball on the floor as often as we have been doing, nor keep breaking through the line so many times without scoring.
Even though we scored 28 points against Harlequins we should have scored a lot more. Maybe a bit of confidence was lacking from the previous week.
On Sunday against Wakefield, I don't think we can afford to start as badly as we did when we met at Belle Vue earlier this year when we were 21-0 down at half time.
We have a habit of coming good in the last 15 minutes of games but the games you really enjoy playing in are the ones in which you get in front early and dominate. That's something we've not done for a while.
When the weather is as hot as it was in London last weekend it can be very draining on the field and whoever got the upper hand early on was likely to win.
Harlequins got two early tries and although we threatened to score I'm sure they got a lot of confidence from the fact that we didn't.
We got a sniff of a comeback but we left ourselves with far too much to do again.
And when you're chasing a try you end up making mistakes because you end up pushing and pushing the plays, whereas if you're in front you can just control the game. That's when we're at our best.
My Testimonial events have been going well and there are two more coming up for supporters who would like to get involved.
There will be another of our regular sports forums at Burtonwood Community Centre on Wednesday.
With there being Warrington and St Helens supporters in Burtonwood, I've been trying to have people on the panel with a Warrington and St Helens link. Nick Fozzard will be coming this time.
The Saints fans in Burtonwood have really got behind these events and hopefully more Wolves fans will go along on Wednesday. There are about 30 tickets left in the club shop.
With me being a Liverpool fan, Bruce Grobbelaar was one of my heroes and it will be nice to meet him and hear some of his stories when he is my guest at a dinner taking place at The Halliwell Jones Stadium on June 24. Tickets are available from me on 07725 646066.
