CHILDREN from Green Lane Special School have been trying their hand at a new sport.
The pupils have been putting the fishing platform for anglers with disabilities at Lymm's Meadow View Fishery, to good use.
They have received coaching from the Environment Agency and the British Disabled Angling Association and help from young anglers at Lymm High School.
Environment Agency fisheries officer Andy Eaves said: "The Environment Agency, with Meadow View Fishery, part-funded the installation of the fishing platform.
"It is specially adapted for anglers with disabilities and is accessible to wheelchair-users.
"We're pleased to see children from Green Lane School using the platform to have a go at angling, and that Lymm High School pupils have agreed to help out too.
"Angling is a great hobby for children of all ages and really encourages them to take an interest in their environment.
"By making angling more accessible to children, including those with disabilities, we hope to encourage more young people to take up the sport."
