SELLING more than three million records is nothing; you know you've really made it when you get to perform at a club in Latchford.
And that's just what happened at Pierpoint and Bryant Recreation Club last Saturday when X Factor winner Shayne Ward rolled up to watch his old band Destiny perform at the club.
The pop star spent the evening signing autographs and posing for pictures and even acted as the band's roadie bringing in speakers when they were setting up.
Stunned regulars were even treated to a special performance when he took to the stage and joined his old band to perform his biggest hit That's My Goal, and after his impromptu performance he received a standing ovation from the audience.
Mark Stout, concert secretary at the club, said: "He was down-to-earth and made a speech at the end saying he left school and joined the band and the girls helped him to harmonise and without them he wouldn't be where he is.
"Everyone went mad getting pictures."
