THE Rock has landed - only this time he's home!
Builder Dave Harrison is chuffed to be reunited with his missing hawk which was rescued by firefighters after his leather leash became engangled in a TV aerial.
"I'm over the moon," said Dave, of Widnes. "If I hadn't seen it in the World, I'd never have found him.
"It broke my heart. I thought someone had shot him or caught him and kept him.
"I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me get him back, especially the World."
His 13-month-old hawk flew off by accident.
"My girlfriend was tying a knot and he slipped out of her hands," explained Dave. "It wasn't her fault."
The World and the RSPCA were inundated with calls from people who had lost hawks.
Dave was able to give animal collection officer Derek Hanson the correct tag number to identify him.
Dave flies The Rock regularly and hopes to train him to be semi wild. As a special treat, he pampered him with his favourite dish - a full quail!
