A TERRIFIED woman who was appearing as a witness in a glassing case was intimidated by the defendant's friend from Rudheath.
Magistrates jailed Craig Tomlinson for 11 months after he intimidated Tracey Hayes, damaged her front door and assaulted a police officer.
Tomlinson, 19, of Laburnum Road, who appeared at Northwich Magistrates' Court on Thursday, was convicted of the charges during a trial and previously admitted assaulting the policeman and criminal damage. Laurence Bestow, prosecuting, said on December 12 Ms Hayes was at home in the front room when there was a knock on the front door.
She looked through the window and saw Tomlinson standing behind another man and refused to open the door.
Tomlinson demanded to be let in and punched her front door with his right fist leaving a hole.
On another occasion he walked into the house, rummaged through drawers and left.
Mr Bestow said: "Tomlinson asked her if she was appearing in the case against his friend.
"When she said she was he said: 'Don't. If you do, you will be hurt and terrorised.' The victim told police: 'I feel intimidated and scared in my own home. He could turn up at any time'."
In May 2005 Tomlinson appeared in Ms Hayes' garden, took beer cans out of his pocket and started kicking them about.
Ms Hayes told police: "He was obviously drunk. I asked him between 15 and 20 times to leave.
"The whole thing has been very frightening and very upsetting. I'm scared of what he might do."
On December 12 PC Palmer tried to arrest Tomlinson in Parkfield Road. He spoke to the defendant, who was drunk, and a struggle took place during which Tomlinson punched PC Palmer twice in the face.
Chris Johnson, defending, said it was strange how this matter had come about.
Ms Hayes kept an open house and the defendant used to visit.
He added: "My client's behaviour has been affected quite badly by the amount of alcohol he has."
