BARNTON bagged their first win of the season at fellow strugglers Mere.
Asked to field first, the Broomsedge side reduced their hosts to 18-3.
Matt Morley pitched in with three wickets as Mere slumped to 154 all out.
In reply, Barnton lost both their openers before the score had reached 50, but Paul Coot (42) and Christian Watkins (44no) steadied the innings to take their team close to the target.
Burgess brothers John (15) and Richard (10no) steered the side home with three overs to spare, helping Barnton pick up their first maximum points haul of the season so far.
They hope to repeat the trick on Saturday at Lymm.
