WIDNES Cricket Club returned to winning ways with cup and league successes.
They convincingly defeated Winnington Park in the Fred Graham Twenty/20 competition on Friday and followed up with a defeat of the Cheshire County League Premier Division leaders Bowdon by four wickets on Saturday.
Steve Titchard made 58, Danny Naughton 26 and captain Ian Spencer 49 as Widnes amassed 175 for 8 against Winnington, who were dismissed for 85.
The test was much sterner against Bowdon, who declared after 55 overs on 234 for 5.
But Cameron Park and captain Ian Spencer put Widnes in sight of victory with a 100 partnership, with Bappa Mukherjee hoisting a six to earn victory and 25 points.
Widnes' second team lost heavily at Chester BH after the home side amassed 294 in 43 overs.
Widnes collapsed to 155 all out with R Evans making 38 and Ben Williams, 32.
Fourteen-year-old Williams did even better on Sunday, hitting 137 not out for the third team in an easy win against Mobberley. Chris Travis took 3 for 10 and Jack Webb 2 for 19.
The under 15s played the Merseyside Midweek Final at St Helens Recs on Friday and turned in an impressive display to roll the Recs over.
Captain Billy Webb and Thomas Johnson put on a partnership of 75 before Webb retired on 50.
The score of 138 was too much for Recs, especially with Travis bowling at rapid pace, ably supported by Edward Barwise.
Jack Webb's spell of spin then turned the screw and the Recs only managed 102 off 20.
