COMMUNITY spirit will be soaring in Kingsley next month as its ever popular carnival carouses into the village.
The event, which is held every two years, has been going for more than three decades and coordinator Aaron Bridges hopes this year's show on Saturday, July 15, will be the best yet.
He said: "The purpose of the event is to provide a village focal point and fundraiser and this year's recipients will be the NSPCC. It will also help fund new playground equipment.
"This year's theme for the procession is Families Through The Ages and planned events include a Viking re-enactment, Chester City Giants and the Kingsley Giant, which is being constructed by village children, classic cars and a Karamba Samba band."
The procession begins at 11.30am from Top Road before ending at the Westbrook Road playing field. The carnival, which will be officially opened by the Kingsley Giant, starts at noon.
Aaron, a parish councillor, is confident organised activities taking place throughout the afternoon will not leave adults or children disappointed.
There will also be a climbing wall, miniature steam train rides, football contests, a bouncy castle, a beer tent and a hog roast.
The Frodsham Fire Brigade will carry out a chip pan fire display and show vintage appliances.
