FOUR-LEGGED friends will join forces in Weaverham this Sunday as an annual animal show trots into town.
The Weaverham Community Association-organised Horse and Dog Show will be held in the grounds of Beech Hill Farm, Northwich Road, and event spokesman Eileen Bland is hopeful members of the community will go along to show their support.
She said: "This is a traditional event fixed in the Weaverham calendar and the equestrian world. We have been running for about 14 years.
"The horse show holds BHS qualifying classes so we have riders from different counties taking part.
"There are also opportunities for newcomers to take part in novelty contests as we do classes for kids who have never had a go, even if it is just leading a pony around.
"We also have novelty competitions in the dog show so there really is something for everyone."
The show, hosted by benefactors Robin Dalgleish and Philippa Reid, is also the biggest fundraiser for the village community centre.
Eileen said: "As a self-funding sport and community centre the show raises valuable income to support the centre as well as being a good day out for the family and supporting rural diversification projects in the agricultural arena.
"The ground is within walking distance of the village so it is easy for everyone to access. There is a lot to see and to enter so we want everyone to come along, bring the horse, bring the dog or just a picnic and enjoy the day."
The show begins at 9am, admission is free and refreshments will be served throughout the day.
