EVERTON Reserves are returning to the Halton Stadium to play next season's home games after three years away from the borough.
The 13,5000 capacity ground was re-registered as 'an excellent venue to stage Premier Reserve football' by owners Halton Council in March.
Cllr Phil Harris the council's executive board member for sport, said he was 'delighted to welcome Everton back to Widnes'.
"This is good news for the stadium and the people of Halton," he added.
"We are hoping we can strike at least a two-year deal that will lead to a lasting partnership between Halton Stadium and Everton FC."
This season, the Blues have been using Southport's Haig Avenue ground, which is renowned for the quality of its playing surface.
However, they are returning to Halton Stadium, which they used between 1999 and 2003, to make us of its size and facilities.
Andy Holden, reserve team coach, said he had 'happy memories' of the stadium.
Halton Stadium was used once this season by Everton when a rearranged reserve fixture against West Brom clashed with a Southport home game on March 21.
