A MAN who hedged his bets by thinking he could get away with dumping his garden fence on waste ground has been fined for fly-tipping.
Christopher Keeley, 33, admitted planning to burn the wooden fence on Brandon playing field, Hough Green, on bonfire night last year.
He was caught after Halton Council investigated a fly tipping tip-off. He admitted what he had done straight away.
Halton Magistrates in Runcorn last week fined Keeley, of Brandon, Widnes, £400 and ordered him to pay £310 prosecution costs and £140 compensation to clear it up.
