HEALTH bosses in Crewe and Nantwich are thinking about buying in services from the private sector for MRI scans.
The Central Cheshire Primary Care Trust is looking at using a mobile scanner service to deliver quicker appointment times and reduce waiting lists at Leighton Hospital.
Other initiatives being considered are sending patients to a new independent hospital at Halton for orthopaedic services and the return of the mobile unit for cataract surgery.
The organisation's chief executive Mike Pyrah said: "We would like local people to let us know what they think of this.
"We have other proposals to re-design health services in central Cheshire and we are consulting local people on these until August 19."
A public meeting on the plans will be held on August 19 from 7.30pm at Crewe Vagrants Sports Club in Willaston.
