THREE men were taken to hospital in the early hours of Monday, June 5, when the Hyundai Axon they were travelling in collided with a tree.
Newton firefighters were called to the smash, on Garswood Old Road in Haydock, at around 1am.
Oxygen and first aid was administered to the driver, aged 19, and the two passengers, aged 20 and 21.
The men were taken to Whiston Hospital with multiple injuries. The driver's injuries were described as serious.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said no other cars appeared to be involved.
