A STRING of policing measures are helping to reduce anti-social behaviour on the Trees Estate.
Police say calls from the estate have dropped by 25 per cent.
They say they have been carrying out high visibility patrols in the area and using all powers available to tackle the neighbourhood's problems.
Inspector Peter Mallett, of Newton Police said: "The Building Safer Neighbourhoods programme reaches right into the heart of the community, listening to people's concerns and working with residents and businesses to solve problems at a local level.
"We have completed a follow-up survey on the Trees Estate and residents have told us that they have seen a visible improvement in their environment and that feelings of safety have improved.
"We will continue to work with our partners and the public on the Trees Estate."
A 23-year-old man from Newton has been reported for summons for a variety of road traffic offences. Four warning notices have been issued to bike riders and two bikes have been confiscated because of persistent misuse
Three cars have also been seized from the estate for having no insurance.
