Gladys Goodson is searching for the family she lost touch with after moving away from Widnes many years ago. She befriended them when she lived in the town 50 years ago.

Although she can't remember their surname, she knows that the mother is called Greta and the children are called Marion, Margaret and Rose.

She said: "They lived in Widnes. The street ran across the top of Major Cross Street.

"When my husband decided to move back to Welwyn Garden City, I promised Greta that when I settled I would help her get to where I was, but I lost her address."

The family would have known Gladys under her previous married name of Rawlinson.
