THERE was a close shave for charity champions who raised around £1,000 on Sunday.
Five brave men were waxed to raise money for The Shannon Bradshaw Trust, at Akira Nails, on Padgate Lane.
The event was the latest for the trust which is celebrating after getting official charity status.
Patti Bradshaw, who helped to set the charity up, said: "The waxing was absolutely brilliant. We are still counting the money but it could be up to £1,000.
"It is great to get the official status. We have so many events going on and are raising so much money that it was the next step."
The trust was set up after daughter Shannon died from aplastic anaemia.
Among the participants on Sunday was Shannon's uncle Keith, from Orford.
