CAN you imagine how proud I was to see the picture of the William Sutton Housing estate office gates in your 'town needs to clean up its act' article?
This is so apt due to the recent correspondence I have had with the management over this issue, which is an estate- wide problem.
We are provided with two skips, once a month, for bulky rubbish but this doesn't stop the problems you captured.
Some people just dump their rubbish out on the street before bin day and hope it will be removed for them.
Some use the blue paper recycling bins as household rubbish bins and some dump rubbish in the communal areas in the hope that it won't be discovered or wait for some other mug to remove it for them.
Litter also appears to be either thrown from car windows or from people walking through the estate (who are either visitors or residents).
I am surprised vermin has not been an issue on the estate.
Does it have to get to the point where children get some form of rat-related disease, before the residents take a wake up call?
I have even e-mailed the tenants' association about this issue but as yet, I still have had no reply.
Not many appear to want to take a pride in their estate.
