THE North Staffs and District League revival kicked into gear last Thursday.
Crewe, Nantwich, Elworth and Weston all have teams in the new concept of Phoenix 15.
The mid-week limited overs tournament was created to keep the name of the league alive after the majority of clubs defected to an expanded NSSC League.
A total of 20 teams, split into four geographical zones, are taking part in the eight-a-side games expected to last two hours.
Each side has 15 overs with three points to the winners.
In Zone B, Crewe got their campaign up and running with a five-wicket win over Onneley.
Despite Sam Farrington's 51 not out, Onneley were shot out for 75 with Martin Webb and Mike Holt picking up two wickets apiece.
Jo Boyle hit an unbeaten 25 to see them home with three overs to spare.
Nantwich A thumped Whitmore.
Ben Mogg picked up 2-28 as the hosts were gone for just 71 off 12.2 overs.
Doyle (42) and Simpson (26) got them home without loss after 9.1 overs.
In Zone A, Nantwich B side lost at home to Rode Park.
The visitors set 140-5 and despite good knocks from Jeff Maynard (35) and Paul Hampshire (37), they closed well short on 101-5.
It was a similar story for Weston as Sandyford posted 156-6 and although Stuart Fisher (38) and Ade Evans (32no) performed, they ended up on 126-4.
Derbies tonight.
Weston clash with Elworth while Nantwich A face Crewe.
Nantwich B meet Sandyford.
