THE CHAMPAGNE corks were popping at St Anne's Church in Nantwich as hundreds of parishioners toasted the church's 150th anniversary.
More than 300 people attended a special outdoor Mass before sampling the delicious strawberries and champagne on offer at a fabulous party in the church garden.
The event was organised to celebrate the first church of St Anne in Nantwich, which opened in 1856.
One of the event's showpieces was an appearance by the FA Vase, won by Nantwich Town FC in dramatic fashion last month.
Father John Daly said: "There were over 300 people there. It was a great opportunity for people to get together and look forward to the next 150 years.
"The FA Vase was on display and everyone is very proud of the football team's achievements."
