Warrington SA u15 22

WARRINGTON will feel disappointed to have fallen short in their latest attempt to topple Saints - the only Service Area team they have yet to defeat.

Wolves were architects of their own downfall with uncharacteristic errors contributing to most of the home side's points.

A Joe Mellor hat-trick and a Kallum Watkins touchdown were not enough to take the spoils.

However, impressive attacking performances from Tom Rigby, Antony Britton and Jack Davies, along with the defensive efforts of Matthew Lomax, Ashley Cornelia and Jack Reid ensured that many positives could be taken from a close-run game.

A SECOND season of unbeaten Service Area rugby now remains a genuine possibility for Warrington's talented group of under 14s players after they worked hard to defeat a speedy and skilful Saints side.

Young Wolves were rewarded for their early dominance as Andy Davies thrust away a defender and accelerated clear to cross, while impressive James Mendeika forced his way over for a second try before half time.

Pleas for increased movement and intensity were answered three minutes into the second period as the excellent Davies dummied over for his second score.

A final Warrington score was deservedly scored by full back Jordan Burke, who created havoc with his kick returns.
