EXCITING times are on the horizon for Long Lane Primary School.
Later in the year, the school will take on a whole new identity when its name is changed to Meadowside Primary School.
And the school's crche has received a makeover with the school's new name as its theme.
Working with The Big Ideas project, which will broadcast a TV network for the Orford area on the Internet later this year, the school adopted the idea of a 'Changing Rooms' theme.
Inspired by the name change, staff and children came up with the idea of working with artist Debbie Budenberg from the Pyramid Centre.
Debbie specialises in three-dimensional fabric art work and soft sculptures and has been working with the children to help them design the dcor for the crche, which will double up as a quiet room where children can read and write in a peaceful atmosphere.
Head teacher Meg Marshall said: "It has been great having Debbie on board.
"One of our parents managed to acquire some fabric and, working with a team of volunteers and painting and decorating students from Warrington Collegiate, everyone has been busy printing and painting huge designs.
"The adults have transferred the children's ideas to the design of the room."
And, as the project nears completion, it is already beginning to resemble a meadow, complete with green carpet tiles, a seating area around a three-dimensional tree and a white picket fence.
Mrs Marshall added: "The transformation has been emotional. Everyone has shown enthusiasm and commitment. We are very proud."
