WARRINGTON Rugby Union Club's women's team is up and running after a successful first taster session.

The session was led by Warrington's community coach Peter Allen, fresh from his Twickenham success the previous Monday with the Cheshire side that won the County Championship Shield.

Allen, assisted by Warrington's coaching co-ordinator Dave Nichols, took the players though a number of drills to sharpen up passing and positional awareness in an introduction to the game.

Natasha Corns, the driving force behind the new team at Walton Lea Road, said: "This was a completely new experience for many of the girls and it was amazing to see how quickly they adapted."

Regular training sessions will take place every Wednesday at Warrington Sports Club, starting at 6.30pm, and anyone who is interested will be made welcome.

Anyone requiring further information about the team can contact Natasha on 07955 428861.
