THOUSANDS of pounds will be spent on Barley Road playing fields in Thelwall following recent vandalism.
The area had to be shut for two weeks because vandals tore up part of the rubber safety surface.
Grappenhall and Thelwall Parish Council has agreed to spend £9,000 before the summer holidays on bringing the equipment up-to-date.
It will then start a complete revamp of the park.
