up to a £10k challenge
THE conditions might have been atrocious but nothing could dampen the spirits of Lymm's Stephen Butterfield after he helped raise more than £11,000 of charity cash.
He took part in the 10th annual Ford Ranger Great Lakeland Challenge last week to raise money for rugby charity Wooden Spoon.
He acted as support driver for three friends who completed the toughest of triathlons; canoeing the length of Lake Windermere, cycling over England's steepest passes and climbing England's highest mountain - in 12 hours.
His team raised £11,211 out of the total of £173,436.59 raised by the 28 teams.
