CROMWELL clinched Warrington Junior Soccer League's under 14s Challenge Cup after defeating fierce rivals Eagle 1-0 in the final at Victoria Park.
Cromwell dominated the game and, although their keeper had to make a smart save to keep the scores level, they took the lead when captain James Waldron found the net from outside the area.
Waldron was denied a second by a spectacular save but Cromwell comfortably held on to win.
Warrington Town Juniors won the under 14s Auxiliary Cup with a 4-2 win against Appleton.
It was the eventual losers that took the lead in the first half though, as George Tenquist beat a defender before finding the far corner.
But Town turned the game on its head with three goals in five minutes after the break, with Oliver Hardman equalising from 25 yards. Matt Colley then converted a cross to put them ahead and Joe McDonough added a third.
Colley struck his second to seal the victory, although Jake Ditchfield pulled a goal back from the penalty spot.
Newton were crowned the winners of under 10s Division Four after winning their play-off match against Penlake in a penalty shoot-out despite throwing away a 3-0 half-time lead.
