A GROUP of people in Golborne and Lowton are to have their own special day.
Golborne Clinic, on Lowton Road, is the venue for a carers' day on Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
There will be stands promoting services and information about the support available to carers at the event, which is organised by the Community Development Group for Golborne and Lowton.
The group of health professionals and council township staff are trying to raise people's awareness of carers' needs and the support available to them.
Across the borough, there are more than 45,000 people who care for relatives, friends, or partners who are frail, disabled, or chronically ill.
Janine Morton, township co-ordinator for Golborne and Lowton, said: "Carers are important people who often go unnoticed. This day is intended to help them talk about their needs and find out more about the range of services available to them."
