STAFF at a Middlewich factory are celebrating after winning a prestigious health and safety award.
Ideal Standard, in Booth Lane, has been rewarded with a bronze occupational health and safety award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
Dave Rawlins, RoSPA awards manager, said: "Ideal Standard Middlewich has demonstrated how seriously it takes health and safety management and is a fine example to other companies.
"We would like to see more organisations following the lead by providing a positive example."
Tony Brookes, Ideal Standard site manager, said: "This award is most satisfying - it demonstrates our ongoing and focused commitment to safety and our goal of becoming world class in safety.
"This is great news and all the employees should be very proud of what has been achieved - it is only by everybody working together that we will get better."
The RoSPA awards, sponsored by the National Examination Board for Occupational Safety and Health, are about encouraging organisations to have good health and safety management in place as well as trying to reduce the number of accidents and cases of ill health at work.
