dropped
FOUR youths were arrested for burglary at midnight on Friday after they were spotted on the roof of Middlewich High School.
Officers from the town's CAT team attended and took the group to the custody suite but all charges were later dropped when no evidence could be found.
PC Mike Senior, from the CAT team, said: "It is incredibly dangerous to go on a Victorian school roof.
"All of the youths were drunk and they could have easily fallen off and injured themselves.
"Anyone who is trespassing will be dealt with accordingly and parents should take heed that their kids could be going up on rooftops drunk.
"Although all charges were dropped as a result of the investigation they all spent time in custody so let that be a warning."
He added: "We will increase vigilance at the school after recent incidents of damage."
