THE rich history of a unique area of Winsford has been put into print so people in the town can learn more about its fascinating past.
It's All Over provides an in depth account of the Over area, which is still the smallest borough in the country.
Historian and author Brian Curzon said: "I don't think people in the town realise just what an amazing history Over has and I wanted to do something about that.
"This book gives details of the prehistoric origins of the borough and goes on a journey through time showing how it changed.
It's All Over, funded by Winsford Town Council, is intended to be an accompanying guide for a history trail Brian has created around Over.
Plaques have been placed at historical landmarks in the borough including Saxons, St John's School, the old market hall, St John's Church and the cross at Salters Wall.
Winsford Town Mayor Pam Booher was made Mayor of Over - the first time anyone has taken up the position for 110 years - during a ceremony to launch the book last Wednesday.
Brian is now encouraging Winsfordians to get a free copy of the book from Winsford Town Council and go on the history trail.
He said: "It is a lovely walk and I think people will be surprised just how much there is to see.
"You don't realise what is there until you know where to look so I hope this book will be enjoyed by a lot of people. History is something which we should celebrate and we are very fortunate in Winsford that we have such an interesting past."
