WINNINGTON Park 1sts continued their winless start to the season at home to Macclesfield.
They have now failed to win in their opening seven matches, but they came close on Saturday.
Jeremy Casey top scored with 83 on his return to the first team, while Jim Pilling plundered 65.
Vish Bhardwa finished unbeaten on 33 as Park posted 256-5 from 50 overs.
Macclesfield made the most of the fine batting conditions, with Aussie Eddie Gulbis (70) getting them off to a swift start.
A brief rally saw Winnington snatch quick wickets, before Steve Ackerley (65no) arrived at the crease.
He regained control for his team, helping them close on 260-6 with an over to spare.
Hayes was the pick of the Park attack, returning figures of 3-72 from 19 overs.
Winnington are not worried yet though, with Max Sleigh, David Leech and Simon Newall pencilled in for a return next time.
