Warrington Wizards A 50
Runcorn Vikings 16
A BRACE of tries from young centre Brendon Kavanagh was not enough to prevent Runcorn Vikings from slipping to a 50-16 defeat at Warrington Wizards A in the Rugby League Conference Cheshire Division.
The first came straight after the break when the Vikings worked the ball towards the Wizards try line and Kavanagh reached out from an attempted tackle to touch down.
The second came 15 minutes later after Kavanagh poached an astute interception to score beneath the posts, with Mark Bazley adding the two points.
Runcorn added a third try from Dale Ward, who forced his way through the wrong-footed Warrington defence, with Bazley again converting.
But the Wizards, with their line up boosted by a number of LHF National League Three players, scored a total of nine tries and seven goals to ensure that their win was never in doubt.
