A MOTHER and son are set to jet out to Zambia for a two-week volunteering adventure.
Marian Wallace and son, James, 18, from Lymm, will be building a classroom as part of the Transform programme run by charity Tearfund.
The pair will now need to raise thousands of pounds in sponsorship.
Mrs Wallace said: "I am really looking forward to doing this. It has been something I have wanted to do since leaving school.
"I am nervous about going especially all the potential diseases that there are and also
all the jabs we have to have.
"To go on the trip James and I require sponsorship totalling approximately £3,000.
"Any money received over our target will go to the partner charity we are helping in Zambia and to other Tearfund projects."
Before leaving for Zambia, Marian and James undertook an intensive three-day orientation in Ledbury, Gloustershire, to prepare them to get stuck into the team's tasks from day one.
Any donations can be sent to Summerville Nursing Centre, Hilltop Road, Stockton Heath, Warrington, WA4 2EF.
