FIRE safety was the message passed on to young and old at Warrington fire station on Saturday.
All sectors of the community turned out to enjoy an open day at the station, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington, Clrs Hans and Karen Mundry.
Firefighters were on hand to show families around some of the appliances that are used to fight fires across the borough.
The station's cadet force also wowed the crowds when they showed off their safety skills with a road traffic accident display.
A total of £337 was raised during the event, half of which goes towards the fire service benevolent fund and the other half will go towards the station.
