CHURCHGOERS are being asked to help pay for window repairs at All Saints' Church, Church Lawton.
The parochial church council there has decided to give priority to replacing the two large windows in the church's north wall and four semi-circular windows around the building.
Two recent legacies will be used to replace the two large windows and one of the smaller ones.
Iris Lawton left the church £5,000 in her will, and Gladys Burt left £1,000.
The church needs to find donations for the remaining three semi-circular windows, the cost of replacing each being £850.
After the windows are repaired the church will be looking to completely rewiring the building, which will cost £20,000.
Collections for August totalled £1,600, compared with the £2,000 a month it costs to provide the church building and its rector.
From January that will rise to £3,500 because of an increase in the parish share.
The price of the parish magazine will rise from 30p to 40p in January, the first increase in 12 years.
