ALSAGER is bursting with pride this week after its latest success in a county-wide competition.
The town took the runner-up spot in one of the categories in the annual Cheshire Community Pride competition.
The town scored success in the market towns section for towns with populations of more than 10,000.
It won the same category last year, was runner-up in 2003 and won it in 2002.
Town council chairman Colin Burgess received a certificate to mark the success at an Ellesmere Port awards ceremony.
"The townspeople should be congratulated on the way they have helped to look after the town," said Cllr Burgess.
He thanked borough gardeners and street cleaners for their contributions.
"It speaks volumes for Alsager and its people that the town has been consistently in the top two of the competition."
