FRUSTRATED Liberal Democrat leader Clr Ian Marks has accused Labour of ducking a debate on energy.
Labour councillors voted to send a motion on micro-generation to a council watchdog committee after council leader John Joyce said he 'couldn't understand it'.
But Clr Marks said Labour were hitting the proposal into the long grass and were ignoring the issue of global warning.
He said: "This is a crazy reason for deferral when you consider the motion is similar to ones put forward by other councils.
"Global warming is a major issue, if not the major issue, facing the world and this motion was a way of Warrington making a positive contribution."
Micro-generation is about turning homes and workplaces into mini power stations.
